As the lead Senior Graphic Designer on Monopoly Gamer: Nintendo, I turned a childhood passion into a career-defining milestone. This being my first major project at Hasbro, I was determined to break the mold of traditional licensed games.
While the initial direction was safe, my research into the vibrant world of the Wii U inspired me to follow my gut. I moved away from the "boring" layouts of the past to create the first-ever seamless track that flows world-to-world across eight levels. By aligning the property sets with a continuous 2D landscape, I was able to fully immerse players in the Super Mario universe. This visual innovation became the building block for the entire Gamer line, successfully bridging Nintendo’s iconic mechanics with the classic Monopoly experience. My work on this project was ultimately recognized with Hasbro’s Way to Go Award.

Determined to move past the static, repetitive layouts of previous licensed games, I set out to create a board that felt like a living level rather than a series of squares. I immersed myself in the Wii U’s Super Mario aesthetics, downloading hundreds of screenshots to study how Nintendo built its worlds. I took a massive creative risk by blending these iconic environments into a single, cohesive visual narrative. When I presented the first "track strip" mockup to my Lead Product Designer, the reaction was instant: we knew we had found the future of the line. The journey didn't stop at Hasbro; this vision had to be vetted by the masters of the IP. I presented the concept to Nintendo Seattle, who then shared it with Nintendo Japan. Their enthusiastic approval was the ultimate validation. This "seamless track" design didn't just define the first game; it set the visual standard for the entire Monopoly Gamer franchise, leading the way for both the Collector’s Edition and the Mario Kart versions.

To bring the Monopoly Gamer box to life, I used the Nintendo Evergreen Style Guide to create a cover that tells the game's story at a glance. I placed the playable characters directly onto my custom "seamless track" to capture the energy of a race, with Bowser looming in the background to signal the game’s unique boss-fight mechanics. The

The result is a high-energy cover that perfectly bridges the worlds of Nintendo and Monopoly.

To celebrate the iconic villains of the franchise, I designed a dedicated Boss Card area on the board that felt like more than just a placeholder. This visual "explosion" of characters wasn't just aesthetic; it served as a clever nod to the players, building anticipation for the legendary encounters waiting inside the deck.

To expand the experience, I designed the Power Packs to feel like a seamless extension of the core game. To expand the experience, I designed the Power Packs to feel like a seamless extension of the core game. Each expansion includes a character token, a Power-up card, and a character sticker, all of which I styled to match the aesthetic of the original set. By maintaining a consistent visual language across the cards and components, I ensured that every new hero added to the roster felt like a natural part of the Monopoly Gamer world.
